I'm wondering if the 256 video card is much better than the 128 video card in regards to playing WoW.
Can anyone comment on either of the two?

As far as the 128 vs. 256...not really, not that much different, it screamed on my CD MBP, it screams even better on my C2D MBP because Apple was able to clock the GPU higher on the C2D 15" MBPs.

What kind of frame rates do you get in a capital city vs out in less graphic-intensive zones?

Thanks!

I have used both the Rev. D Powerbook 17" (with the 128 MB card) and the Rev. A Macbook Pro 17" (with a 256 MB video card). There is no appreciable difference in WoW.

Ram, on the other hand, makes an absolutely huge difference.

Mark,
Have you seen WoW played on a new PB with 2Gigs of RAM vs. 1Gig and 3Gigs? What frame rates are you getting? With the settings turned up?

Thanks!

Performance is not so bad. Not really that uber either. About 20 FPS in BGs, and 30-60 indoors. This is at max settings.

Multi-threaded OpenGL is annoying. It may improve FPS, but it creates a lot of lag between keyboard/mouse events and what's currently being displayed. This is just my experience, but I can't stand it.

is your friend.

Mine is a 256 MB MBP C2D.

Also, I really doubt there will be an update at the keynote.

At max settings, I think that's pretty good for a laptop.

I don't reckon it's supposed to work that way. I suggest you tell Blizzard's Mac team about the problem.
