Just got it yesterday. Opened the box, put it on phone, took it off, and decided I will go another route.
I do realize you get them free via the case program but most are not shipping until September.

FYI, they are shipping "at the latest" september. Most are getting them within a week. I don't mean to crap on your thread, but its only fair that people know what they're getting.

Haven't received mine from the program. This is one I purchased in-store. The "people are getting" a perfectly functional brand new bumper.
Not trying to pull a fast one on anybody. Many cases were available for free. 
I'd have expected troll posts from other forums. But MacNN? Come on. I've been here for quite a while.

Anyhow, my stated shipping time is still September through the free case program. Guess others are getting lucky. It'll be up for sale when I receive it.

Turtle, humor me...
Apple's free case program offers a number of different cases; not just the bumper. You can only pick one of those cases. So make a wise decision.
Say a person picks out another case, finds out he doesn't like it, and obviously cannot get another free one. What's he to do? Be a normal consumer and BUY another..
I don't see how anyone was suckered here.
