It's nice to see this is indeed on it's way to completion. This is a game we all should have had years ago.

Heh, I still feel "burned" the day it was annouced MS would buy Bungie. I loved Bungie when I first played Pathways Into Darkness, a most excellent game, and then went on to Marathon. "WHA?! This can't be happening. NOOOOO, NOT MICROSOFT!"

I was just not that impressed with Halo when it came out for the xbox. The game's graphics are outstanding, but the fun part of the game (driving the Jeep like vehicle) takes forever to get to. The indoor levels go on forever, and ever, and ever, and ever...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Billy Boy can solidly insert Halo in a very dark, moist place.

Screw Halo, i'll never buy it or play it.

i got an xbox and have been quite pleased so far. Halo is really fun but the ending was kinda weak.

The game is also really repetive. Alot of the game you have to go some where and then go back so pass alot of the same thigns. There is also a level where you have to follow this blue orb and go through 10(i think) huge doors and there about 3 battles before each door. its gets really annoying after the 3rd door. And every hall looks the same.

The ending was the best part of Halo. I still go back and replay that car chase through the innerds of the spaceship. Halo2 is supposed to be out in a little more than a month, as well. I can't wait.

I played it a year ago, beat it, loved it. One of the best shooters ive ever played, and to whoever said the jeep takes a long time to get to, its half way through the second level which takes an hour at most to get to. Also i think Halo 2 is coming out Q4 2003, looking forward to that.

Indeed,

I found that the middle dragged a lot - particularly during indoor sections. The environments in the game are extremely impressive but once inside... VERY samey. The exteriors were pretty fab... what happened.

All in all a fab shooter, the use of vehicles (and levels large enough to support that) alongside pretty decent AI was unparalelled.

News on Halo:

"Another Bold game Westlake is working on is a Mac conversion of Halo: Combat Evolved, the hit Xbox action game that was, in a previous incarnation, originally meant for the Mac and Windows. Westlake said that's in "Prototype" stage, an important development milestone that precedes the game's playable status. Bold hopes to ship the game almost concurrently with its PC counterpart's release, expected later in 2003."

At least we know if Westlake does it we'll see it, not like Bungie or Microsoft.

At least if Westlake ports it, we'll know we'll see a finished product in a few months, not like Bungie or Microsoft who kept making open promises.

I'm just wondering whether or not it will support dual processors. That's my main worry.
