one of the things apple promised with the newer versions of quicktime was mpeg-4. while it was one of the first major mpeg-4 clients, i was a little underwhelmed by its implementation and quality. i have tried various encoding schemes and still only got marginal results (even when using apps such as cleaner 6).

i am hoping the new version will be better looking (at least the screen shots show a vast improvement).

Well some people have already seen it in action and it's apparently pretty impressive.

3 video streams at the same time...4 times the resolution on the same bit rate? You can't lie about this kind of stuff. And people seem to confirm the quality is good.

cool. i am really looking forward to tiger. i only hate that apple makes these announcements months in advance only to tease us into a frenzy.
