Lens 2: Nikon Nikkor 80-200 f/2,8
Lens 3: Vivitar 70-210 MACRO

Accessories: 4 extension tubes, pol filter, uv filter, 1 softbox umbrella:

I would be using Lightroom any day of the week if it was just as nicely integrated into Mac OS as iPhoto is.

I only just got it. I need to buy a flash and more lenses. I have a D70 as well, with the kit lens and a 100-300mm f/4 around here somewhere.

alcoholica: i recommend your next lens be a wide angle. the only two lenses i ever use is my 50mm and my 10mm. one for nice portraits, one for nice landscapes.

I agree, Chris. In fact, I've got the 50mm as my first lens for this camera because I want to start doing more portrait photography. I've generally used a 28mm lens before for landscapes, although wider would be useful. I never find myself using a telephoto lens, at least with film cameras.

I know this is a tad OT, but chrismccorkle, did you have to install any software or change any settings to make your Canon EOS 350D work on OS X? My friend was telling me his wasn't working on the Macs at his school and that his teacher said that Canons don't work very well with Macs, he has the same camera as you.
My Powershot A40 worked fine with OS X as does my Fuji SLR.

the teacher was wrong.
i have a Canon SD110 and a 350D (Rebel XT) and they both work fine on my system (G5). i only use the Canon software for the occasional stitch, but there is nothing inherently incompatible about the canon JPG or RAW (CR2) files and OS X.
using a card reader is the best route to go, btw. why waste camera battery when you can get faster transfer speeds by just ejecting the card.

Thanks, just wanted a second opinion of my calling what his teacher said BS.

I don't take the photos but I do correct/retouch them on a Eizo CG221. It's amazing, wipes the floor with my old Barco Calibrator and that was a damn good monitor!

Anyone shooting medium format besides digital?
I am thinking about getting a Mamiya setup after the holidays...Prices on ebay and places like KEH have dropped dramatically...
I'll probably get the one of the manual focus ones like a 645 to save costs...

60mm 2.8 Micro Nikkor
20-35 2.8 Nikkor
70-210 4.0 Nikkor
SB-600

next up: Nikkor 35-70 2.8 or Tokina 12-24 4.0 (can't afford the Nikkor 12-24, and it's impossible to find these second hand at a low price)
I shoot RAW exclusively, I've never shot a single JPEG with this camera. And of course I use Aperture.
I've also got a Minolta Dimage Elite 5400 scanner from my film days that I'm trying to sell.

I also have an old Pentax K1000 for my film needs.
Things have changed a little:
Rebel XTi (400D - to you outside the USA) w/batterygrip and running AA batteries (I love this setup)
Kit lens EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 I am using this solely for the wide angle aspect. I need to get a nice wide-angle lens. I rarely use this lens.
Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II excellent lens for the money. I am using this for children's portrait work. I use this lens a lot.
Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM AWESOME lens. I am using this for large group/family portrait work as well as general walk around photography. Very good color and razor sharp.
Canon EF 200MM F2.8L II USM Wow. I have yet to really try this lens out but I think I have caught the "L" bug. I originally bought a Tamaron AF28-200MM F3.8-5.6 XR based upon the recommendation of a salesman and they were closing it out so the price was about 50%. But it had some bad chromic aberration and I found I was at the end of the focal length 90% of the time so I returned it and bought the Canon 200mm f/2.8L. I don't have a tremendous use for this lens, but I am looking for ways to use it more often.
Software:
Adobe PS CS3 beta w/Camera Raw Blemish removal and advanced picture modification
Aperture The majority of my photo work is modified with Aperture. Just sharpening and WB tweaking.
Websites:
Smugmug.com I do all of my sales through them now. I am highly impressed with them and their customer service.
