I've been doing the album rating thing, but now i'm stuck with a bunch of empty star ratings on songs that need to be adjusted. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get all the empty starred songs into one playlist. Anybody?

Create a smart playlist with the criterion "Rating is · · · · · ".

I should have prefaced with "i'm not retarded."

A zero-rating playlist doesn't pull up the empty-starred, album rated songs. I've got 8.1

Creating a smart playlist with a rule to capture specific 'album ratings' as opposed to song 'ratings' seems to work fine for me. Is that what you tried?

"Album Rating is . . . . ." doesn't work either, since I want to grab all the empty-starred songs from the albums I already rated.

What I need is this:
Album Rating is in the range * . . . . to * * * * *
Rating is Empty/Auto-generated from Album Rating

The culprits:

**I guess the current workaround would be to unrate all of my albums so these culprit songs would go back to unrated instead of empty-starred...

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood exactly what you were looking to do.

That is the reason I don't rate my albums, because I don't know a way to weed out the unrated songs then. I'd like to know of a solution as well.

Funny thing is that I was going to suggest that but got slightly perplexed by the OPs screenshot showing the "empty" stars next to some of the track, presumably "auto-generated" (as he said) by rating the albums. When I rate albums, though, I don't end up with any stars at all next to the tracks so I figured that he was talking about something that I have no knowledge of. I'm only running iTunes 8.0.2 (lazy) so thought maybe it was a difference in iTunes 8.1.

I hope you're right, and I can feel like slightly less of a dunce!

Well I might be wrong. I don't have any open stars either.
