Something seems to be wrong with my version, people can not see me online and I can not see them.
Also, I changed some people to different groups and I get a notification each and every time I log on to update the server which apparently it does not do.
Using beta3 by the way.

Skip this one, guys... I can't even open the preferences window--- doing so crashes & quits the program.

I got a crash when clicking on "Message" toolbar icon in Preferences too. Already filed a crash report.

BTW does anyone know how to break a meta contact into multiple contacts?

Also just discovered: when sending a file to a buddy with multiple accounts, the ordering of the accounts matters - in this case he has both an ICQ and MSN account, with ICQ in front. And file transfer failed without any message prompt.
When reordering the accounts listed in the meta contact window (so MSN is the first), file transfer works fine.

Did the same for me.. then didn't do it again.
It's a one time "feature" I think.

Mine also crashed in the prefereces panel.
To solve the problem I was having I had to manually remove and re-add the persons who could not see me online. Apparently its got something to do with me having changed the old passport login.
Keep up the great work, it would be awesome if we had a more extensive msn smilie list.

I'm seeing it consistently. I trashed all preferences and everything under Adium 2.0 in Application Support except for a message view, dock icon, and 2 scripts, and it's always crashing when I go under Message View preferences.

devs: I've been using builds from SVN. would it be more helpful for me to use the officially released betas so I can send bug reports on those, or is SVN cool?
Recent builds are looking quite killer. Keep it up

Fixing a silly message prefs crash
it's fixed but you'll have to wait for beta5 or download it through svn and compile it yourself if you want the crashing to stop, or just avoid your message prefs for a while until beta5

Here is a sure way to crash Adium 0.70 beta 4 (at least for me):
1. Double-click on a buddy (to send a message)
2. Copy some text from the previous chat log inside the message window
3. Click inside the message window, not the text field below (so the text field won't have the focus)
4. Hit cmd-V to paste the text into the message window
5. Adium crashes
I've already sent a crash report to the devs - just want to know if ppl have the same problem as I did.

For the record, this bug now appears fixed in beta 5 - but still I can paste text into the message part of the window. Doesn't look to be useful for me though...

Weren't the weekly releases betas? I don't like this new release schedual, personally (IOW the developers may enjoy it, I don't). Going to check out the competition, not switching, but just going to see how proteus/fire are moving along with Jabber support.

This is an issue with the pre-release version of webkit you have installed.

Thank you! Now it's clear why almost no one except for me was reporting this problem.

Nice work.
Something I noticed: If you click the + to make a new contact list layout (Nice that it copies from what you've got selected btw , and then you make some changes, and then cancel, it doesn't revert back to what you had before.
Small, but I thought I'd let you know.

edit:
Also, it appends 'Copy' to the default name multiple times even though you never actually saved a copy
If you want screen shots I can post them.

Yeah Beta 7 is the best yet. Even compared to the beta .6xs
Proteus has a lot of catching up to do. As usual.

Why does it matter to you if Proteus has to catch up? Are you planning to switch again?

It doesn't matter to me Horsepoo.
You should be asking yourself why it matters to you if someone uses Adium.

It doesn't matter. I'm just wondering why you're trolling like this?
I was asked to quit making unnecessary comments...I suggest you do the same.

I do agree. It's a pretty solid release. The stability seems there...that's good.

Actually I wasn't trolling. After I posted it I did make a personal note to see how long it would take you to go into defense mode.
That was record time I believe.

Like I said, my original comment was not meant as any "rivelry" I only figured horse would say something as an afterthought.
And horse, report me all you want. Offering my opinion on Adium is not a reportable offense.
You take your software to an emotional level. It's not healthy.

b7 has been working well for me so far. I figured out why the .mac people in my buddy list were not showing up correctly: In Address Book I had the .mac address listed only as their email, not as their AIM screen name. It seems pretty redundant to list it twice (ditto for the MSN users) but at least that gets Adium to display things nicely.

I hardly use Proteus or take any software to emotional levels like you do. I use whatever works and whatever doesn't need to be downloaded on a weekly basis...I use iChat and Yahoo.
I suggest you learn what 'trolling' really means. Uncalled for comments like 'Proteus has a lot of catching up to do' to incite someone to reply is trolling. I was told to lay off the unnecessary jabs...but this applies to everyone...you're not an exception.

Saying that Proteus has 'catching up' to do is hardly trolling.
Saying that only losers would use as lame of an IM client as Proteus is.
If someone wants to opine about 2 products that's fine. That's what this forum is for.
That being said: I am glad that the 'null' buddies in my contact list don't seem to be cropping up anymore and I am extremely please with how easy on the eyes Adium is these days. Esp. with the included themes.
Cheers,
Velporama

Your kidding right? You have a habit and history of berating people for using software you deem inferior.
You used to pvt message me and tell me what an idiot I was for using fire and not Proteus.
I suggest you learn what 'trolling' really means. Uncalled for comments like 'Proteus has a lot of catching up to do' to incite someone to reply is trolling. I was told to lay off the unnecessary jabs...but this applies to everyone...you're not an exception.
That isn't trolling. That is giving an opinion. The very FACT you think it is trolling just goes to prove my point. You are taking it way too seriously and personally.
IT'S JUST SOFTWARE.

So do you. Chill out dude. You're the one that started the scene and admitted to having put the cheap jab meant to infuriate. Answer my PMs.

I noticed that bevels in the name "bubbles" are back.
I like the new header gradient option in the .7xs

Beta 7 seems to be *much* more stable than the previous betas...
Other than the weird history thing, I haven't had any problems with this release at all! And the history thing is such a minor detail... certainly not a show stopper.
Love the new contact list, Adium folks... great job!

Ever since Beta one I haven't been able to save List Layouts or Color Themes. It always gave me an error. It never really bothered me, as I thought this was a common problem (I am having it on both my macs), that would be fixed in the next betas.
But now as we are up to Beta 7 and the problem is still there, I am wondering if this is specific to my install?
