Replacing optical drive in the mini

I'm thinking about replacing my optical drive in my mini (Combo drive currently) with something that can burn DVDs. I would prefer to get a dual-layer drive, even though I won't be using the DL functionality until the discs are cheaper.

Has anyone had any experience with replacing the drive in the mini with this one?

It looks like it would physically fit, but if it doesn't work with iTunes, iDVD and the Finder, it's useless...
