Yes, quite obsessive and inane. To be honest, I'm not sure if RR would really do that.

So what ? That doesn't prove shit.

And btw, you don't pass the smell test in terms of your langguage. You need to improve quite a bit.

In any social group members will leave for any number of reasons. I seriously doubt that the admin banning had any affect on this beyond the immediate. The real issue is the lack of new members. Which I'd contribute to the poor quality of the front page of the main site.

If that was directed at me, I meant this thread and The Two Robs.

In other news, I just ordered a new hat.

It's a wide brimmed felt parson's hat and it is going to make quite the fashion statement.

Yes, quite the fashion statement.

(Excuse the lols. My keyboard is playing up again).

I would like to see pictures of this fine sounding hat!

This thread is now about Tiresias' hat.

Hello Besson.

I had in mind a wide-brimmed felt hat with a domed crown.

Finding out what to call this kind of hat cost me some effort. But I believe the most definitive of several names that cropped up (among them Quaker Hat and Amish Hat) is Parson's Hat.

But how did I determine that this was the correct name, I hear you ask.

A very good question, Besson. It was owing to combination of two factors: The quantity of relevant search results for that term against the other two, and the occurrence of said term—together with the absence of the other two terms—in an online Glossary of Hats.

I am sure you will be equally interested to learn that this particular style of hat was adapted from the hats that priests and missionaries wore and enjoyed a secular revival in the 1980s.

Good day.

Thanks!

Good day.
Thanks, you too!

Have you gotten lots of nice compliments and attention from the opposite sex in wearing your cool hat?

It was nice talking to you, I look forward to hearing more about your hat...

Thanks Besson. Such courtesy is rare these days.

You're as fine a man as ever wore a hat.

Sadly, my hat is still shipping and won't be here for about ten days.

The only comment it has so far elicited from the opposite sex is, "Why are you ordering a woman's hat?" This was said by my wife, looking over my shoulder while I placed my bid on ebay.

Of course I just smiled ironically and said nothing. Such ignorance deserves no reply.

Yes, another ten days.

Damn keyboard.

Anyway, I will post a photo when it arrives. Perhaps even an unboxing photo narrative?

I hope you can find something amusing to do to pass the time between now and the day my hat arrives.

When your hat arrives, your wife is going to want to have a lot of sex with you in ten days. If you weren't married you'd be making a lot of women pregnant.

You're a fine man, I always thought that you were nifty, this hat of yours only furthers my admiration of your many fine qualities. It is too bad that you aren't Rob's mentor, because he needs some guidance. Maybe if he would listen to you he would clean up his act and become a model citizen on MacNN like us? He probably does drugs too.

Good day.

Dear Follow MacNN Citizen,

I wish to inform you that your recent purchase has inspired me to consider purchasing a similar item. As such, I wish to get your thoughts and incite on purchasing a wide brimmed hat, in the color red; perhaps a fedora.

Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

iM@k

Are you saying my hat is gay?

I kidd, iM@k.

I think you should get one. This particular hat is part of a whole look I've been envisaging for some time. It will be worn with a white shirt with French cuffs, a black dinner jacket, jeans and boots.

Basically, I will look like a Hasidic Jewish cowboy ready for a night on the town.

Any pointers, now that you have just discovered you have excellent fashion sensibilities?

Actually I was trying to make a joke as there was the Linux varient called Red Hat whose consumer version later became Fedora, that's where I was going

BTW, my fashion is Levi jeans and fruit-of-the-loom t-shirts.

If the mods had a sense of humor, they'd censor this word.

The problem with putting Santorum at the beginning of a line like that is that because first letters need to be capitalized, you could be referring to ass juice, and it would be silly to be asking for help from ass juice.

I might be willing to sell you some of mine though if you really want some.

Edit: too late for the santorum jokes...

I would like to come across some video footage of somebody asking Santorum in an interview what he thinks of his Google bomb namesake.
