Reminds me of the episdoe of Top Gear where they fired cars from an air cannon at the top of a quarry towards a huge target on the quarry floor.

Unless the barrier is a 7 foot high and 4 foot thick wall of concrete I don't see how it'll stop, of course the pioneers of the sport will always have the best distance scores seeing how they didn't have to over come barriers.

They just have to develop a mobile ramp to avoid such a barrier. Should help with distance too.
