My wife is still using her original iPad 1 with the unlimited plan, can we upgrade to the newest iPad 4 and keep this plan??

I think AT&T uses any excuse to bump people off the legacy unlimited plans...Like adding/upgrading to a new device.

I've had mine since the original iPhone.
It's not that big of a deal as it used to be. If you go past the non-unlimited cap they throttle you to nothing.

iPad plans are not throttled.
You can safely transfer your old iPad service to your new iPad with the "transfer service from another iPad" option in the cellular data page in settings. An AT&T person in a store can help you with no problems. Make sure you see the "unlimited lte option" being selected.

That's what I was hoping to hear, you don't have any links that would show me that policy do you? Can't always trust what different sales people say...
