This is odd. I'm giving a presentation, and when I connect up to the projector, the colors are "wrong". Skin looks yellow. Blues are off. The strange thing is that last night, when I disconnected the projector, some of the color issues still followed! I had to reboot to get everything back to normal.
The projector is a PJLink (?) and doesn't even show up as anything more detailed than "Color LCD" in Displays preferences.
Unless I have to, I don't really want to recalibrate my MBP's internal display because of this.
Any ideas?

Since the projector is, for all intents, a second display, you just might have to create a new calibration profile for use when it's attached.
btw, PJLink is a protocol for controlling multiple projectors from a central source.

OK, I missed the brand. It's actually a Panasonic.
But if I'm using it as a second display in mirroring mode, why is it affecting the calibration of my internal display?

Does it affect the internal display while you're using the projector? Or does the distortion happen when you disconnect the projector? Your post was a little unclear. My guess is there was a glitch in removing the projector from the system and the Mac had a brain-fart. It's odd that simply re-setting the Displays > Color setting didn't fix it, and you had to re-boot.
Which model Panasonic? Some of their projectors have some form of on-board color management (or, at least, they used to)

Yes, it happens while connected and after disconnection.
I tried switching to another color profile and back to the original one and that seemed to fix it (after disconnecting) without having to reboot.
I didn't get a chance to check the model number.
