This is a fresh (30min) install of OSX, how do I get rid of this stuff showing? the Terminal command doesn't work.

Get Onyx, turn off 'Show hidden files in Finder'.

Does that just run the same command as the terminal way? if so then ive tried.

Onyx doesn't fix it.

Did you by any chance delete a file called ".hidden"?

This has happened to me several times on several Mac with updates or fresh installs of 10.5.... if you are moving to 10.6 I'd ignore it since they fixed it there... if not, you can do this...
