Hello,
I have a big problem with my 500mhz iBook, the trackpad is not working anymore (the mouse does not move when i move my finger). If I connect an Apple PRO mouse, I can move the mouse... so I guess something is wrong with the trackpad. Has anyone experienced this? any idea on how to fix it?
(I've tried to reset the PRAM just in case, but it does not help).

if it's not a software-based problem, you're going to have to live with it or have it repaired. the top housing would probably have to be replaced.

PMU reset can help with something like that and I am glad it's working again for you....a couple of other things I would have asked is did you either replace the keyboard or put RAM / Airport in the unit because I have seen the trackpad ribbon cable pulled before and another way to test if it is a HW or SW failure is to boot to an install CD and see if it works there since you are loading a known good version of the OS
