(ipod nano / powerbook OSX 10.4.2 )
the icon thing (i cant for the life of me remember the word for the little logo thing that appears on your desktop, and its bugging me, but anyway that) keeps disappearing off my desktop when i have the ipod plugged in. its there in itunes, but not on the desktop - sometimes. i want to drag data files onto it to transfer (i'm assuming thats the right way to transfer data files - drag them over onto the icon thing). how do i stop it disappearing?
ta.

Do you have "disk use" enabled?

lcruise is right. Look under 'iPod' in your iTunes preferences window. You should have a check next to 'Enable Disk Use'. Hope that solves your problem.
