I was told I was the first in the area to pick one up, a couple hours after they just received shipment. The apple store retail worker he hadn't even had time to look at it himself yet. Well, I was planning on getting this new iMac for some time, no matter what it turned out to be.
I bought a 24" 2.4Ghz Core2 Duo, standard config with wired inputs devices.
I posted a bunch of photos on my gallery at Flickr.

Start on that photo and work your way up.
My overall impression of the machine is overwhelmingly positive, way better than my older 20" White iMac.
All of my comments and thoughts are posted as notes and descriptions.
Enjoy!
I'd gladly answer any questions here as well.

And my big concern -=- the glossy screen? Do you like it? (Although, heck, I'm about to order mine... I'm ordering what you have, but I'm adding a slightly bigger hard drive and a modem. I actually still fax people from my machine! Some people are still not doing email.)

Wow, very nice job on Apple's part with this one.
I'm still debating on $250 for the processor upgrade, or $200 in third-party 4 GB RAM.

I went for the 4GB ram upgrade. Pretty good decision so far. Also, Engadget indicates that if you are only going to opt for one, that the ram upgrade is the way to fo.
