Well after having some keyboard issues I posted about HERE my touchpad started skipping at times and eventually just stopped working today. Is this a logic board issue? The laptop is only 2 years old and it's already screwed up. Some high quality ASUSTEK engineering at work there. I've searched around for other people with this problem but I can't find any. What's the deal?

Still no luck... It will randomly work for a split second sometimes. Did the soldering come loose or something?

I've opened up two different iBooks (G3 900mHz and G4 1GHz) and it would be difficult to loosen the connection in the case. It may be the trackpad went bad (not good news).
Have you tried just cleaning the surface with mild dishsoap? Maybe it just isn't getting the contact well from surface grime (not to imply you have a dirty iBook), but it can't hurt to try everything.
