Guys, help me on these:
Can CHMOD 666 be run on a file on my computer before it is uploaded or do I have to go through SSH to do all that?
What good SFTP apps for uploading can I use?

You have to set the permissions on a file after it's uploaded. SSH works, but most apps have persmission setting ability that make it easier. A good SFTP client I've seen is Fugu. Google it.
