I just watched an early episode of Popeye today. It seems that Olive was originally Blutus (Barnacle Bill) girlfriend and she only became interested in Popeye when he ceat up Blutus.

Next, in other Popeye episodes, Poeye is always the romatinc one, and Olive Oil always refusing any serious propositions. Olive Oil was always attracted to the money and gold.

In newer episodes, Olive Oil starts as Blutus mistress and gets rscued by Popeye, while in other episodes Olive dumps both Poeye and Blutus for a random old rich man.

So, is this what Fleischer had in mind when he created Olive? A skank ho?

Her swaying carefree attitude, and her physiological expression of it, confirms her whoredom ultimately.

If only Blutus and Popeye had their off-ship time at different times, Olive would have very well two-timed each of them.

I think they could have found a better looking ho, at least one with some curves or something.

Sweetpea was the lovechild of questionable parentage (though he did resemble Popeye ) .

Me: Sweetpea was born of a virgin who ascended to heaven on the third day.

Ah, yes. But what happened in Popeye & Son? That's right. She married Popeye and had a kid. (I reckon she got knocked up and dragged to vegas but I never saw that episode.)

no doubt in this guy's mind.
