Just so you know donny31, any code that you "borrow" from anyone else makes his copy invalid. If you play online with anyone else's code the other person won't be able to play online.

If this is legit, email MacSoft about it. They're mostly likely to know of a way to retrieve the CD key or, if you've registered the game, to send you a new key. Asking for a game key on a forum, you must admit, makes it look like you have a pirated copy.

They sell new keys at CompUSA, the Apple Store, and many other places that sell Mac games for only $49.99. Pick one up today!

Why on earth would you throw the booklet away? You KNEW the key was on it, since you had to type it in. That's just a bonehead move if you legitimately own the game.

And since nobody wants their own access to be lost, I doubt you'll see a code posted here. There are pirate codes, but I'm not inclined to share them, since I'd rather that people would buy the game and support the Mac platform (Note that I'm not saying YOU are a pirate, only that others might be and I wouldn't want to encourage it).

If you own the game legitimately, call MacSoft on the phone and talk to them. They might accept a digital photo of the box and CD as proof.

The "Halo Preferences" file in ~/Library/Preferences/ contains the CD-Key info (not plaintext), so if you already installed/used a valid CD key, just copy that preferences file to the same location on your other machine. The rest of the prefs, like profile setup, is stored in ~/Documents/Halo/

Hope this helps...

Or maybe someone just sent him the cd key thats been passed around peer to peer. (works for install, and some online games, though not all online games). No harm in helping, if its not your personal/bought one.

I sent that one to MacSoft, so you can be sure it won't work when 1.03 comes out.

I wish we could get 1.03 -- the people on 1.02 are rather childish, with lots of team killers and people more interested in banshee dogfights than in actually playing the game. 80% of the games are "slayer" which gets boring in about 10 seconds flat. CTF is a lot more fun and actually requires some teamwork.
