God... I probably don't want to do this...

G52gDP - $2499
2 gigs ram - $500
G41gDP - $2500
1 gig ram - $400
22" ACD - $2000
1g17"PB - $3000
512mb ram - $200
550m15"PB - $2500
450mCube - $1200
Mac128 - $3000

So... without counting software and various other odds and ends, ipods, etc., and we're talking a lifetime Apple investment of at least $17.8 or so. Figure twenty grand for odds and ends, tax, etc. damn.

Software? Hmmm. Probably another ten grand, at least. Just spent $700 on the Production Suite upgrade. Lots and lots of money to Adobe and Microsoft over the years.

Other cool devices? Printers, cool monitors, fancy schmancy network stuff. damn. My head hurts.

Dollars generated with all this stuff? Millions.

Having the coolest stuff on the block? Priceless.

Not too much yet. Just the essentials.

Gig of RAM from OWC.
120 Gig Western Digital HD.
4G iPod

So far, that's about it, but I have my eyes on a new vid card, up from the nVidia thing and some 5.1 digital speakers.

For me, just moving up to the G5 was a big outlay, so upgrading is going to take a few months.

if youre hellbent on getting studio monitors for your rig then i recommend m-audio, mackie, krk, or yorkville....
i wouldn't say the Edirols are crap. stratus goldi's, or even swan m200's, they ain't, but they sound ok.

I tried this card and the CompUSA branded one. The CompUSA branded one wouldn't even let the G5 turn on even though is was a universal card. The Adaptec card will drop frames like crazy on the firewire bus as soon as I would plug in a USB device to the same card. This was a mouse, printer, didn't matter. My iSight wigged out as well. I also tried it in my dual 533 and same thing. I ended up getting IOGear cards, separate firewire and USB.
