I've never seen such a short tail number on a plane before. N2N.

sideus,

Thank you for links to pictures of SJ's jet. I've looked and asked on forums for these with no success. I was asking for pictures taken at home based Stockton airport. Operating expenses paid by Apple indicate this jet is in the air alot. Southeast Asia to Paris and many in between trips provide many landing opportunities for other iLeader watchers.

I hope your post peaks the interest of others.

Thanks again.

two things which would make it perfect:

1. as said, make it black
2. put a nice white apple logo on it

then it's complete. thanks for finding the photos btw.

Where's the Apple logo? Should be on there, and the plane should be black, as mentioned...

What does SJ need a jet like that for when he has 2% market share? I don't get it. Oh, wait..I forgot ipod. Wonder how many hours its logged in the air though.

Can't be C. Either it's owned by Jobs, or it's owned by Apple and used exclusively for Jobs. Hard to believe sometimes, but Apple is more than SJ.

Gotta love getting that as part of the package as part of his 1 dollar salary.

My bet would be Steve's, but bought under Apple as a nice tax write-off...

About custom jets...

I have a customer who is worth - a lot. It's a very secretive situation, and I'm not allowed to say who it is and all that.

ANYWAY...Very nice man, and cannot live without his Gulfstream jet. The Internet/phone/communications option on the new Gulfstreams is $1 million. He's getting that with his newly ordered plane.

So they ask him what type of wood trim he'd like for the interior. He shrugs "I dunno." They bring over a table full of wood samples in various stains. He picks one of the teaks. "Very nice, sir. We'll reserve your tree." What? Yeah. See, they pick THE tree (which is likely in some equatorial country) and chop a limb off, and provide a variety of stain samples. If you pick any of its samples, that very tree is yours to make sure it's exactly the wood/stain you wanted. Sometime before the plane is completed they chop it down and process it for the interior.

I thought that was freakin' cool. But I guess if you're going to pay $50 million for a plane, the tree is no big deal.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?

Apple gave the plane to Jobs in 2001 as a gift and Jobs pays for the operation of the plane himself. In turn he bills Apple for it when he's using it for company business.

Most corporate/private jets of this caliber are purposely understated in livery design. For privacy reasons, they don't WANT you to know who's plane it is or who's on board. One argument is that shareholders waiting for their coach seat don't like to see the <insert company/stock name> jet rollin' by for takeoff. Of course, corporate and commercial traffic don't often use the same airports, but you get the picture...

My last job overlooked the airfield at Scottsdale Airpark, AZ. It was amazing to see single color jets come in, with a simple stripe... Then look up the N number on Airliners.net and realize it was some Fortune 500's personal wings.

Does really matter, though? Some people have almost nothing of their own, legally, but they fully enjoy the material goods and benefits of the company every day, making those things, in practice, their own.

It doesn't matter but it is nice to know if it was from his money or a perk from Apple. Besides, G60 answered the question above.

Use of Teak is completely frowned upon in Norway now. Rainforest-chopping and all.

curious. general dynamics has changed their model naming scheme. so does that mean that the gulfstream v is the same as the g500?
