any theme that has not been update for SS 2 will still work completely fine with SS 2 correct? I have not messed with any pre SS 2 themes since getting it and I want to make sure before I start bring more in. This is probably just a naive question so I am covering my ass now Any thoughts or comments are welcome. Thanks

SS 2 works fine with older themes.

It doesn't for me.
Some pre-ShapeShifter 2 themes work fine until you use iSync, which then causes the entire system to rever to Aqua.
I haven't experienced this with guiKits designed specifically for SS 2.

Same here. I use Shapeshifter 2 and ANY THEME I install with SS will theme most stuff EXCEPT the Finder and Safari (might be others but I haven't checked all my software). Really weird. I also deleted ~Library/cashes/Shapeshifter, restarted, etc. etc. BTW, I did upgrade from 1.x to 2.x.
Oh, and I did not have any of the above problems until I installed Quicktime 6.5.2 and iTunes 4.7.

Here is the fix (taken from http://www.unsanity.com/support/?vf=22):
"This is a known bug in ShapeShifter 2.0 that we plan to address by the next update. Meanwhile, the fix is simple:
Launch Terminal. It's located in /Applications/Utilities
Enter the following command:
defaults delete com.unsanity.shapeshifter CustomSettings"
It fixed my problems...

This fix doesn't solve the iSync issues for me, nor does deleting the ShapeShifter cache.

Have you emailed Unsanity? They seem pretty quick to reply on these type of issues.

Well that's a bug... I'll make sure to do some testing also and report to Jason on that.
Edit: Inconclusive testing on my part... I get the same problem with some themes including my TuXedo panther port that I did in the latest version of ThemePark, though I did not get the problem with Aluminum Alloy 1.6.
I have posted the bug report on Jason's forum.
