sadly, we're talking Virtual Memory here.

This is no joke… I was sort of testing my Unibody MacBook Pro's hard drive snappiness by opening apps with no mercy, and by then finding this awesome fact, some 'java' process was skyrocketing over 16 million of Terabytes worth of Virtual Memory… which as happens with the vast majority of virtual things may be worthless but I fail to remember having seen anything like this anywhere.

What do you all think?

Perhaps a recent java upgrade now works on a quantum level, accessing virtual memory from thousands of parallel realities.

Too bad it's waste on java though. Adobe's Flash plugin could really use it instead.

It certainly does. By not mention Flash would eat every core the intel CPU has to offer.

Virtual memory is using HD space instead of memory... you must have a huge hard drive!

64 bit computing. If nothing else, it makes underflows more exciting.
