I know that the pre-Santa Rosa MacBooks could only address 3GB of RAM even if 4GB were installed. But, what about the video memory? Is the video memory taken from within the 3GB limit or from the 4GB that's actually in the machine?

Thanks.

The chipset can address ~3.1GB and OS X gives 3GB to the user, so I think the VRAM comes out of the difference, but I can't confirm it.

The 945GM chipset documentation probably answers your question, but I don't totally understand it. Either way, what's 80MB out of 3GB?
