Hi all...I apologise for my programming ignorance in advance...
Here's what I'd like to do as an exercise in learning something about OS X programming. Basically, I know people have built Cocoa front ends onto CLI utilities in order to make them a little easier to use. The utility I have in mind is called Shorten, it's an audio compressor that packs audio data w/o loss (or with, if you want). Good for archiving CDs or moving non-lossy audio over the net. Those who care can get the source
here and have a look.
So, anyone with ideas on some docs I can read or places on the 'Net I can visit to learn about how to do this on OS X? I have all the Dev Tools installed, and I even started making up a simple little interface for it in Interface Builder. Is this something I could cut my teeth on and learn a lot? I'm hoping there are people who have done stuff like this before who can point me to some good resources. Thanks in advance for any help...I promise I'll make it available if I finish it.
