Huawei is preparing an extremely thin smartphone for release, according to recently-surfaced photographs. Three shots of a device alleged to be the Huawei P6-U06 have appeared, showing a minimalist front display without physical buttons, and a metal edging on the sides that bears a passing resemblance to that of the
iPhone 5.
Images picked up by
Nowhereelse.fr show the phone's front and sides, but the site is unable to verify that the images are for a Huawei phone. It does appear to be the
same device that was revealed by the Chinese
TENAA authority, suggesting it will be a continuation of Huawei's P-line of
Ascend devices, with its 6.18mm (0.24-inches) thickness making it the company's thinnest smartphone yet.
Specifications included in the TENAA filing claim it to have a 4.7-inch 720p display, a quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, and 32GB of storage.
