Did you post your ideas for the rebuilding of the WTC site? And if so what would you prefer?

They should be knocked down again if they're rebuilt.

Well, if he means exactly as they were, I'd be inclined to agree. The NYC WTC were just the ugliest things ever. Of course, none of the proposals are really interesting to me either... I'd love to see something like Wright's 'Mile High Illinois' put in instead.

I think while we are at it, why not build another memorial on the site to honor the hijackers... oh yea, that's what the first one will serve as.

It's great that everyone really wants to give a trophy. Would be easier to take the rubble out of the dump and put it back at the site. Leave it "authentic". That way we can look at it every day and honor those who died.

In reality, we are creating a shrine for terrorist want-to-be's, and followers. If you want to be ignorant and continue to ignore the obvious even after 9/11, go ahead. What NYC really needs is something to shove right in their faces. The plans right now are big white flags.

So who was the chief planner for this one:
<img src="http://homepage.mac.com/robertaccettura/trophy.jpg" alt=" - " />

Maybe not build exact duplicates. But something that doesn't look so "small town" would be nice. The current plans would be OK in a small town. But NYC needs to build something to replace what it lost, a manifestation of economic power. Something to say wow.

This may be a pissing war, but it's a shame if mine isn't bigger than yours.

The new designs look weak.

Maybe a barn?

I think all these "concepts" suck. They could have done so much better.

Fortunately, these are still just "concepts." They say they're going to look at the public feedback, mix and match various parts of the concepts, etc. to come up with the final plan.
There's plenty of room for improvement and, hopefully, innovation.

I meant that they should not build anything in their place. Either you care about something, or you don't. Don't get all patriotic and mourney but then take actions to forget the incident you're all up about.

All the plans suck. They basically say "ok, you win. we'll tone it down a bit. sorry for the inconvenience".

I happily agree that all these concepts suk. With all these great architects around, like Koolhaas, Piano, Gehry and so on.

Compromize solutions are always ugly.

(and I also agree that the WTC were hideous buildings, allthough an important part of the NY skyline.
