LivingPlug has released its latest electrical outlet accessory, the Inlet. Installed over a conventional home outlet, Inlet extends its utility with the inclusion of three tamper-resistant electrical outlets, as well as a 2.1a USB port for device charging. A 'UnPlug' button is also included, which allows users to stop energy loss from devices that are connected, but not in use. An optional anchor screw is included, for parents to secure the Inlet more permanently to the standard outlet so children cannot access the non-tamper resistant wall outlets underneath. Able to cover a duplex outlet entirely, the Inlet base can run flush with a wall due to its quarter-inch reveal. The Inlet can be aesthetically customized, with LivingPlug's Faceplates prices starting at $15. Inlet is currently available through online pre-order for $25.

New real-time GPS trackers LoccaMini and LoccaPhone: the smallest with longest range

The LoccaMini and LoccaPhone real-time GPS tracker had its Indiegogo campaign launched this week, with its aim to release the product internationally. Locca can track a person, pet or object with its incorporation of a SIM card, FSK, GSM cell triangulation, Bluetooth low energy (BLE), WiFi, and the latest GPS technology, AGPS. Locca can track objects and humans in real-time with the Locca app for iOS and Android, or with its web application on a desktop. Shockproof and waterproof, the LoccaMini weighs 23 grams, with its length comparable to that of a matchstick.

The two products are distinguished by the fact that the Locca Phone uses WiFi tracking, whereas the LoccaMini does not. Accompanied with a stronger battery life, emergency button, speed dialling, microphone and speakers, the tracker is suitable for children and seniors as a safety communication device. Use of the device requires a subscription service, with the monthly fee varying depending upon device and package selection. Available for pre-order via its Indiegogo campaign, the company's financing goal ends December 3, 2013. Indiegogo backers receive tracking service for the first six months after receiving the product. Pre-order packs can be 'claimed' starting at $135.
