Today I picked up Mechanix brand gloves from Auto Zone on a tip from someone.

http://www.mechanix.com/

These things are great, inexpensive and lauded by military, athletes, auto mechanics to name a few.

Struck me that there are probably other great, very useful little things that are not necessarily expensive out there. Another example, this shaving cream from Kiehls gets the job done every day and a little bit goes a long way (making what looks expensive cheap):

http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p...=281&st=0&cc=1

What else am I missing?

PS: I have no sig.

Most grocery items at Aldi. No contest.

(edited because I'm dumb and can't type more than 6 consecutive words without sticking a typo in there)

Oh dear, it's Millers... But as long it's not the beer coloured water known by the name of MGD then it might be drinkable

I guess it's more or less in the same "ow" league as a Tennents?

Mason Jars. I use them for everything, from storing spices to nails. Dirt cheap and last forever. Easily sterilized in the dishwasher.

Apex electronics. Yup, I've got a 32" TV, DVD/VCR combo and DVD-Recorder. Rock solid, work with EVRYTHING and cheap. It will even play bad scratched DVDs, geriatric VCR tapes. It playes DVD that my friends Top-o-line Sony DVD won't play.

knit gloves at the 99 cent store

don't care if you lose one
 fit either hand
 can still operate iPod
can still open door knobs easily
 dial phones
 feel asses

don't go on a mountain expedition with them though (although you can argue you can wear them underneath a heavy duty pair of gloves for added warmth)

There are these insane 79 cent turnovers at a local baker... they're soo freaking good and compared to other treats you can buy in the price range... they're the sorta thing you'd probably be willing to pay upwards of 3-6 bucks in a restaurant for.

I also have an "Audiophile" Amp my sister bought at Princess Auto in their clearance section for me, and I love the thing, in my opinion more things should be made like this, 30 CND, yet connect it to any stereo speakers and you've got a fine setup all you need is an audio source.

At a normal price of 10 for a $1.00 its hard to go hungry on a budget, isn't it? LOL I used to live off that stuff in high school. Best budget meal you could have there.

When I was living in Colorado, I couldn't find Top Ramen. They had an imitation called "Smack Ramen" which I found mildly amusing.

Cheapy 25 cent plastic Papermate pens.

I can get a lot of the heavy, big, thick, metal pens for free, but in the end I just use the cheap Papermates.
