Last night, I watched the Newlywed on MTV. The first few minutes of the episode, Jessica was trying to set up the iSight with her 12" PowerBook out of the book. The whole piece worked out quite well.

However, I found something goofy. On both PowerBooks, the iChat contact lists were empty.

The footage ~11MB.

no, when you launch iChat you get two separate windows if you have rendezvous activated. If you don't have anyone on that list it is empty but still present on the screen. The Buddy list window for the AIM contacts could easily have been under the video window.

Given that everyone on the MTV staff knew that this would air that was probably the case or it was minimized into the dock.

I'm actually surprised they didn't show the contact list. It uses the Address Book so it could have easily just said their full names and not any info that could actually be used to contact either of them.

Yeah, its a good thing that iSight automatically launches iChatAV or another whole episode would be needed for her to figure out how to launch iChatAV directly from the dock!

Ahh c'mon guys the show is completely fake. She's nowhere near that dumb (lack of a better description) in real life. If she were that much of an airhead... she wouldn't be where she is today.

You know, I'll agree that Jessica Simpson is incredibly hot. In fact, she may have one of the better bodies in the world. However, I've never been terribly enamoured of her face, to be honest. It seems a little too......I don't know if aquiline is the right word, but that's the closest I can think of. Anyways, something about her nose/cheeks/lips combo that, while certainly still gorgeous, throws me off somewhat.

I think I'd take Kate Beckinsale or Elisha Cuthbert any day of the week. But that's just me.

It took Jessica pretty while to hook up isight?! She even have to read the manual and figured it out.. geesh.. No wonder she's a blonde. Hooking up iSight is extremely easy!

Lachey has been using a 12" PowerBook since season one. You frequently see it when they are on the road. My guess is he really bought her an iSight ... I mean is it that hard to believe? I mean everybody in my family with a Mac has one, it's a no brainer seeing how easy they are to use and how well they work.

Even if it were a product placement, is that so terrible? Geesh, it's an MTV reality TV show, what's the big deal.

Nick also had an AirPort base station behind the 12" PowerBook. Not to mention, while building his own recording studio, I saw a PowerMac G5 and the current cinema display.
