DIY iPod Dock (pics)

Recently I was on Lifehacker, and I saw a man who made a DIY dock into his table, I thought it looked amazing. Then I realized I dont want to to put a whole in my desk, so I put one in my ipod case! It saved me 40 bucks, and it looks pretty good.
Show me some of yours, if you made one, or after you make one.

how did you get the remote control?
where is the sensor?
And i was thinking on putting an audio out, but i was too lazy. hah.

Heh, the remote control sensor is hidden at the base of the docking plate and is from an unofficial HK dock that was about £6 ($9?).
I removed/sanded a small section of plastic away from the inside, so the signal gets through from about 10m away (I think this is pretty much its max range anyways ...I expected better ...nevermind!) be careful if you decide to do this though as it's tricky to tell how thick the platic is... holding it up to the light helps as you sand away, etc.
I wanna see more docks, come on guys & gals!

Nice looking docks.
Maybe I will gut out a textbook at the end of the semester and use that as a dock.
