Are there any software solutions for internet routing available for OS X yet? Something along the lines of IPNetRouter. I know there's some freeware app out there, but I've heard that it requires a second ethernet card to work.

Routing and many other neat networking tools are a part of Darwin. It's just a matter of knowing how to activate and configure them. I do not know this.

Do a search, it has been discussed on these boards before.

You may want to try a freeware product called GNAT (find it on versiontracker). It sets up your OS X to support routing between different interfaces (such as airport, ethernet, etc...). I used it on a G4 TI routing between the airport and ethernet interfaces.

gNAT is the way to go. it's a snap to setup and works well. it doesn't offer all the options that you see in IPNetRouter, but it's great if you just want to share an internet connection.

Download At VersionTracker

Anything IPNetRouter can do can be accomplished in Darwin. Pull up the terminal program and familiarize yourself with the commands: ifconfig, netstat, arp, route, hostname and ping. Any elementary networking text can provide you with the background.
