I had to do a system restore, and now there is no sound. I try turning up the volume and it wont, no alerts, cant play CD or MP3. HELP!

sorry i can't help with your question since I don't have my iMac yet but i had a question for you of my own- you wouldn't happen to be a Pearl Jam fan would you?

Try trashing your "Sound Preferences", in the system folder & restart.

You could also do a PRAM reset by holding command-option-P-R and release when it has beeped a few times.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
