my mouse has started to "wobble"
i have checked under system preferances and it is under "slow" already
advice needed

Do you mean the cursor doesn't sit still? Have you cleaned out the sensor area?

Are you using it on a wood grain tabletop?

Fine grain will confuse the mouse.

If the battery swells up on a laptop, it can press on the underside of the trackpad. That can cause the mouse pointer to wander.

it still wobbles
it has bee cleaned
i have a basic wired trust mouse which has proved very good until now
it is on a good basic mouse mat
i think it may be software related

Well, that's at least easy to check. Try with another mouse, unplugging the current one. If the wobble goes away, it's hardware.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
