I have heard that the Performa 6400 can not handle the heat from a G4 card from Sonnet and only a 300 will perform well. Does anyone know for sure?

The 6400's never had any problems with heat - I doubt that the G4 upgrade card would do anything bad to the system. The 6400 has an active cooling system, it'll be fine.

I don't think sonnet makes a G4 card for the 6400. If you mean G3, The 6400's bus won't be able to detect the difference of a processor that is faster then, I believe 325Mhz. so, for the money, the 300 G3 is the best buy. I like my sonnet 300, no problems (except it doesn't work in Linux).
