Haven't ordered one myself, but a guy writing to Macintouch said his was pushed out to 7/28 from 7/14. So not as bad as the wait for the G5 originally, but still no opportunities for instant gratification yet.

Mine just shipped today!! I ordered a 20" on July 2nd (Educational Discount), and had an OOB date of 8/2/04. I should have it on Wednesday, its coming from Sacramento.

I ordered the 20" display the day it was announced and have a shipping date of on or before 07/26. Mine is an education discount with overnight shipping. I wonder if my overnight shipping will speed up things since it has been announced on their website that its now shipping. hhhmmm.....

And MacNN is now reporting that the displays are now shipping. Has anyone gotten a shipping confirmation?

I ordered a 20" on June 28 through the educational AppleStore on-line with a expected date of on/before July 28. I received a shipping notice and checked FedEX and it is on the way. It looks like the wheels are starting to move (on displays at least), now if only my G5 2.0 would arrive.

Mine shows on or before 8/10. So hopefully it will ship tomorrow, since others who had on or before 8/8 shipped already.

I can't wait any longer! Apple needs to send me a confirmation e-mail. I try not to check my e-mail every 4 seconds but I want my display (and airport express).

Does anyone have a confirmation on shipping of the 23" display? So far is sounds like mostly 20" displays are shipping. I did read on the Apple discussion board where 1 or 2 people received their 23" displays.

i'm looking at my new 20" cinema display as i type this... wow. it's been a while since i've owned an apple display, maybe four years... this thing is incredible. it appears to be much brighter than the previous generation of apple flat panels. amazing!

You could always email them to jerrodh AT gmail.com... I can host them. :-D

I'm not sure why you can't attach them... perhaps you need greater than 4 posts on this forum.

Tim,

Call your Apple sales representative. I called mine and he told me that my new 20" should be out the door by tomorrow and in my hands the next day (since I ordered my delivery to be overnight). I told my rep that I was tired of checking my email and refreshing my page to see if it was processed. I ordered mine on 06/28 and the shipping date was set for 07/26. Can't wait to get mine- 48 hours and counting. Hope you get yours soon.

Hi Walt,

I actually called right after I posted. I called and "played dumb" to ask about both the display and airport express. When I asked he just quoted what was on the website order status.

I am sure I will get it soon but I'm getting tired of looking at the paper cinema display I made. Not that I'm crazy but I wanted to compare screen sizes and see how much desktop space I was going to need.

I am looking forward to posting my set-up after it gets here.

yea... white and aluminum seem to go quite well together. As long as they look as good in person as they do in the pictures I'm getting one as soon as possible.

i'm pretty picky about how things look/match and the white keyboard doesn't look bad at all... the logitech mx900 bluetooth mouse (silver/charcoal) goes great. i don't really like the apple keyboard, but can't find anything decent (black/grey/charcoal/alum/whatever) to replace it with. there's a grey/black logitech that seems ok, but it doesn't feel as well made. i have to believe that apple has something in the works, so i'm just going to wait it out.

one thing that i think is impressive, and this may have been on the old displays as well, the buttons on the side for brightness and power are SUPER sensitive- it's like you just have to wave your finger over it! nice. btw, no bad pixels!

a very happy customer.

That does seem to look better in a real world environment than in Apple's marketing pics. Now I'm more tempted than I probably should be to get one.

just in case you can't tell by the pics, (i had to use a very low res 1 megapix camera,) take a good look at the picture of the side of the display; you'll notice that the sides are white, just like the apple keyboard. this is a truly incredible display, the best i've ever used. the only thing i wish that they would have included in the design is swivel. the tilt is awesome, though.

I think Apple's photos of these screens are so heavily photoshopped that they look like mock-ups. You can see no detail whatsoever. Great to see some real pics of these monitors! Thanks guys for posting them! They look much better than I thought they would... Apple needs to get some new studio shots of those monitors!

Can someone post pictures of the "breakout" portion of the cable. How long is the cable, as well?

Thanks.

If I got one I would feel rather cheated because only the front and back are silver, the sides are white plastic and the damn things are thick!
