Okay- I've been trolling this thread for long enough.... Here's my workspace:

PowerMac G5, Twin engine 2.0, 1.5GB RAM, etc
The Slowest G4 350 in the world (aaaah), 512MB Ram, blah blah blah.
15GB Ipod, 3rd Gen
Mitsubishi 20" Diamond Plus 220
ADI 19" Microscan
A3 Oversize Wacom Graphics Tablet (out of shot)
Harman Kardon soundstick 2's
Lots of paint and markers
Piles of old magazines (well read)
Half a Skateboard (painted)
Old coffee mugs (assorted)

I need to upgrade my CRT setup to a pair of TFT's real soon. I do illustrationa and graphics, and it's essential that I can view a double A4 spread on one monitor, actual size.

My 20" Mitsubishi is perfect for this- and I want the same size TFT. Two of them

Due to the shape of the apple TFT's, I don't think I'll be able to do this on a 20". Does anyone know if you can fit a double A4 spread at 100% on a 23"?

Can anyone reccomend any good value, 20", regular format TFT's in the UK? Buckaroo- yours look sweet! Are they 20"s?

Thankyou, Mac Zealot!!

To the untrained eye, this table may look messy.... But I assure you I have everything "filed" in a specific and methodical way that only I can understand!

It's an Ikea dining table, btw!

Just wish I could post the damn image properly, but the image button won't work. Does anyone have the code they can paste up?

What's the other ID, and could it possibly someone else in Link's household? I have no idea, but I assume that you are tracking this via the IP address.

Was Link asking questions and then answering the questions?

Sorry about that. I accumulated posts on both with time and eventually started using Link when I got hooked on playing zelda games

He's already said he has two so I don't THINK it's someone else in his house.

I didn't see the post where he said he had two ID's. I had only read the post from PowerMacKing, oops, I mean PowerMacMan.

Ok, here is both the setup and the desktop. I'll include updates as I make changes. I welcome any advise on trim. I was thinking of some plexiglass and some black panels with brushed aluminum panels. I'd like to make it sort of sci-fi like.

Do we have any flash programmers here that can create a sci-fi flash that will fill a full screen 800x600 with something you might find on the StarTrek Enterprise display?

You didn't mention your Dalek Space Monkey, Scary Girl monster, or your Uprock Vanimal!

What kind of illustration work do you do? I liked the kitty mask illustration on your wall too. Your work?

One thing you could do to help the sci-fi look is to replace those plain mice with those designed by Philippe Starck. They look like good complements to PowerBooks or PowerMacs.

konakazi! Well spotted!

I do illustration / grafitti under the name 'Mysterious Al' ( www.mysteriousal.com ).

I've done bits and peices of work for clients including 55DSL, Levis and Yahoo!

The skateboard tail on my wall is an original 'Miss Van' peice from the last 'Free Art Show' held by my crew: The Finders Keepers Crew.
Together we've done shows all over Europe- and I was in NYC for the www.woostercollective.com' Hollywood: Remix show in June.

I'm so stoked you noticed all my ****! Bravo!

Yes, that's my SGI O2 setup w/ SGI 1600SW. A nice machine. Sadly it has memory problems now - must replace some of the DIMM's which I've not yet gotten around to doing.

See more pics of this setup where it lived in our last house.

It's my Amiga 2000. 7.16MHz 68000. A great machine. It has a 700MB SCSI HD and 8MB RAM.

The machine next to it is an Amiga 1200 that I towered. It has a 66MHz (overclocked 60MHz CPU) Motorola 68060. Use it mainly for hacker demo watching. It has 64MB RAM and a 2GB SCSI HD.

Ok no Power Mac in this shot, but there's a Power Mac in the room, unseen!! (And you can see my Mac Plus and the box for one of my two Cinemas (which are hooked to my Power Mac) as well!.)

Just wanted to share the slick treatment I added to my basement computer room last night. Looks pretty retro-80's I think, happily.

Very cool.

I also like the Texas Instruments machine back there by the wall. I remember those! It was always fun to yank the carts out while someone was using the machine. I remember when one of my buddies who had used nothing but cart-based machines (the TI, the Atari 400/800) first saw me take a 5.25" floppy out of a Commodore PET's external drive.
He was amazed, "You can take those out when the machine is on?!"

Very cool ][GS! Do you actually use it? I have one in my garage that I would love to set up if I had space. right now, I'm trying to make room for my old 7600. The GS is such a cool machine and so far ahead of its time.

congrats on your g5! Always glad to see setups from fellow belgian peeps

Actually I had two of the same monitors like you for about a year. But only recently I sold them to my nephew, since I ordered a 23" alu display from apple, and my pc will soon be replaced with a g5 2.5.

I'll post pics when it's in, cu

Thx !! I am so happy. It runs really quite even tough its baking hot, cpu's running at 73C/164F (its really warm today) and it quitly whispers next to me, perfect !

I also have 2 of those monitors, what a coincidence. The other one isn't on the desk because 1) space constraints and 2) I still have to get an ADC to VGA adapter ...

The upper center LCD is a hi-def TV, and the screens to the left and right are connected to Quad processors that allow are connected to 4 each VCR's. This way I don't have to surf my favorite TV Channels. I will eventually connect two more computers to the 2 LCD's that are now blue screen. Except for the 3 keyboards and the 3 mice, the desktop (wooden) is fairly clear with plenty of room.

Hehehehehe, Actually LCD's don't put out as much heat as CRT's. They do put out some, but not as much.

Touch the top of a CRT monitor after 5 hours.

Now do the same with an LCD.

It's generally more like 5x
