Finally got around to updating to 10.6 and, for the most part, everything went well and everything works... except my icons. They're gone! All's I can see is the name and a faint outline of where the icon used to be. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Lee

I did the 10.6.5 combo install, jm. That didn't help. Thanks anyway.
PS - I have an Intel Mac. I just never updated my specs after getting it.

Hi,
When you say all your icons have disappeared - do you mean all of them, or some of them? I think in Snow Leopard that they stopped including support for applications that were built for versions of Mac OS prior to OS X (the classic mode as it was called) - so if you had old applications, they would no longer work properly.
Just a thought

Cold,
I do use OnyX just before I back up each week. I have never seen anything about cleaning out my cashes except on the internet cleanup option. Where are the rest located?
Mark,
They're all gone. Footnote; about 2 hours ago I had to do a restart after installing an update. When it finished they were all back... for awhile. They are all gone again!

Thanks all. I did everything you suggested and all of a sudden they are not going away anymore so it worked.
