Not many. Although a whole bunch of us here would get our jollies, it doesn;t seem economically reasonable for apple to release them right now.

It's not even so much economics, as it is the PC comparison.
On the desktop side, Apple NEEDS desperately to shed the "Macs are slower" myth. The speed disparity that exists has simply become far too large to ignore. Putting the 970 in a PowerMac ASAP is an excellent way to do it. As I commented in another thread, what are all those PC folks going to say once Apple scores a 64 bit consumer machine WAY before they can that (probably) beats the performance of a P4 with a VERY large stick.
On the portable side however, the picture is MUCH different.

There's a thread where we're discussing the current price/performance ratio of powerbooks. Right now, Apple is WINNING in this department. You simply can't get a PC notebook w/ all the features/performance of a current powerbook without either 1) sacrificing weight/physical size or 2) shelling out an extra few hundred dollars.
I don't think Apple is in a terrible hurry to put a 970 (G5, whatever) in a powerbook... since they're already in a really competitive position in the laptop arena as it is.
It seems much more feasible, to me, to put all your R&D muscle/money behind the G5 tower first... get those caught up with the PC guys in terms of raw speed... then drop that same 64-bit processor that's already been tested/proven/dropped jaws all over the place into a powerbook and really make some waves.
