my 30 GB iPod video will not shut off! i left it at home plugged into my wall adapter, like i always do, and when i came home it was still on. the back light turns off but you can still see the screen as if a song were playing. understand that all the functions still work except for turning it off and resetting it by holding the play and middle button. i was told to just let the battery die and then turn it back on, but i was hoping there was a better fix to it then that. i am still under my warranty, but i would like to try to solve this before having to send it back to the people at Apple.

can anyone help me?

I've had the same problem a couple times. I let the battery run down and it was fine afterwards.

By the way....the font you are using is way too big.

i left my iPod downstairs playing a tv show that i downloaded and after the show was over my iPod turned off without the battery having to run all the way down.

Try restoring (reformatting) it with the iPod Software Updater before doing anything else.

if it's happening while plugged in, try unplugging or plugging into another outlet, i had this issue with a friend's mini the other day.

Sometimes iPods need to be reset multiple times before they actually reset. Try the restore, and if that does not work take it in.
