Hi fellow Mac users.. I've got a Dual G5 2.5 that I use as a back up machine and I keep three accounts on it.. two are admin and one is not. Oddly, I noticed today that on both admin accounts I cannot use dashboard, but for what ever reason, on the normal account I can. The two where I cannot use it allow me to access the dashboard screen, but when I try to place a widgit onto the desktop, it doesn't stay put.. it just disappears. All I can think of is I have little snitch on there and maybe somehow it is blocking the widgets, but then why would it work on the one normal account?

I tried to re-install 10.5 (upgrade option) and it didn't fix it..

Any thoughts?

thanks

I had been struggling with the same problem with my main admin account. Found that it was linked to Parental Controls. All I had to do was log into my daughter's account (to which I had set parental controls), log out again and - hey presto - it worked. Found the answer here.

I hope this helps.

oddly, it works with the daughters account here and not ours, but when I do what you said, it still doesn't work in our account.. I'm at a loss!

Sorry it didn't work for you.

Have you tried (temporarily) disabling Parental Controls? That way you can check to see whether your issue is related to this or something completely different.
