Hi All,

One thing that's been annoying me about OSX: if I restart my machine, any folders that I had open that are on external drives become "generic" (what you get if you just open a new Finder window).

As I have several external drives (one of which contains all of my active projects), this happens all the time and it's really really annoying: instead of having all of the relevant folders open and waiting for me when I restart my machine, I have to delve deep into the file system to get what I want (when I had all of my active projects on internal drives, this of course wasn't an issue: everything would open up nicely).

This becomes even more annoying for projects that I have on the back-burner: I used to have their open folders shrunk to the Dock (waiting for me to get to them, their presence in the Dock being a handy reminder), but now I can't do that and the "out of sight, out of mind" principle applies.

Ok, </rant>

Chas
