Dotmac is down. Anyone know if this is regularly scheduled service, or could it be the upgrade that's been rumoured for some time now?

Yet another reason to go with a different service that's cheaper, has more features, and far superior for uptime.

I just noticed that. I like my .mac account so if they are upgrading it, I think that's just fine with me.
It's not like they did it during the day.

Again, only way I'll ever buy .mac is if they actually begin offering something that's remotely worth what you pay. Be that by dropping the price or buy increasing the features. I was talking to a friend, and if .mac was 30 bucks I'd probably buy it, as would she. Actually if it was 30 bucks a year I bet they'd have 10 times the subscribers.

.mac is great for those who want to integrate their iApps and other e-mail accounts into one easy location to check. Most users are going to like the .mac as it is.
- e-mail
- learning center
- templates
That alone makes it worth while for many.
- bookmarks
- calendar
- addressbook
syncing is nice too.

.mac is up now.
The first thing I've noticed was the 250mb of storage shared between the iDisk and email is now 1GB.
Not a bad upgrade.
What are the attached file limits now? Are they over 10mb per message?
Anything else?

Backup v3.0 and 1GB total storage as standard.
For those of you upgraded to 1GB storage, you have 2GB total storage now.

Dotmac groups is a nice touch. And the extra space works for me, 25GB/month of data transfer.
I get dotmac half price (won a couple of memberships in a lucky draw) so it's even more reasonable.

Not a bad upgrade.
You have to logon to your account on .mac to enable that extra space:
Current Storage
Total Storage: 1024 MB
Email Storage: 2 MB of 15 MB in use
iDisk Storage: 87 MB of 235 MB in use
Groups Storage: 0 MB in use
After
15 MB Email / 1009 MB iDisk

I mean what is the maximum file size for an attachement. Is it still 10mb?
I'd like to see more on that end.

Still 10MB attachments. But then again, any larger and you can place an item on your iDisk public folder and let the person download it from there (XP users can download the free Windows iDisk Utility to access iDisks).

I don't think there is PHP support:

How did you do it? Did you login using the website and go to "Accounts" and update there?
Nevermind - it worked that time...

It's initially split 50/50 between email and iDisk.
