I just bought my daughter a new MBPRO C2D 15/2.16 CTO (2Gb RAM).
Wondering what users' experiences have been with this platform: I get the sense that most of the heat/noise issues of the first generation MBP's were resolved in the C2D models, but maybe I'm wrong.
What should she be looking out for in the first 14 days? Thanks!

In the first 14 days she should be experiencing a great computing experience.
And after the 14 days she should be experiencing computing nirvana.
Ths macbook pro is one of the best laptops o have ever used.
I boght my first macbook pro back in novemeber sold it and got me a 17" i am so happy
i do not mind plowing down the 2700+ i spent.
You will not regret the purchase and your daughter will love you even more

Very happy with my 2.33 so far - the optical drive is a little picky, but that's the only chink in the armour!

I have had many Apple laptops, all good. The C2D MBP is the best.
