For f**k's sake, now he's producing A Nightmare on Elm Street. Please stop. Just... stop. PLEASE. The guy has such a hard on for explosions he added explosions to Freddy's claws (I'm not joking, just watch the trailer.) I just want him to stop!

The film was written during the writer's strike and is produced by Michael Bay. If anyone can think of any way this movie won't suck, let me know.

I want to see the movie, but I know if I do a part of me will die permanently.

Why?

Personally, I'll pass on this one... but then I thought the original was silly.

Why can't he remake Leprechaun instead?

There have already been like five terrible Freddy movies. This is just one more to add to the pile. In all seriousness, it probably won't be worse than Dream Warriors.

The movie scared the sh*t out of me when I was a kid. I think that's why I'm so partial to it. I had so much fun ducking behind the couch.

I want to see the movie, but I won't. Well, maybe I will if there's a RiffTrax out for it.

How is that even possible? Is Michael Bay himself going to appear in the film naked?

Dude, we have spoiler tags for a reason.

Actually the campy horror movie I would most like to see remade is C.H.U.D.

I have to say, Jackie Earle Haley is a fantastic casting choice. He was brilliant as Rorschach.

One movie I don't want anyone to retouch, EVER, is The Exorcist. My all time favorite horror flick. My head would spin backwards and I would vomit on anyone even thinking about touching that movie.

I can't believe they've remade V.

I haven't seen anything about it but it has Battlestar Galactica potentiel, as something that could really benefit from decent CGI.

I really hope the director's cut features more face time with the psychiatrist. It was one of the best parts of the Graphic Novel.

The memorable line of the film's emotionally-stunted male hero will be: "It's magically delicious!" (shouted while launching a grenade into the leprechaun's TNT-laden hidey-hole near the climax of the film...after the leprechaun has wiped out the attempted air strike)

You mean the sparks as he drug his metal claws against a metal surface?

Unless his claws or the rail are made of flint, they wouldn't sparkle like 4th of July like that. Maybe his claws are made of potassium and he got water on them?

Wow. The glimpse of Freddy at the end isn't nearly as terrifying as the original. That face still scares the bejeebus out of me.

This is one movie that can be made better now than 25 years ago. The movie's premise relied on special effects and with today's advancements in them it can help the storytelling along as well as add to the scariness if its done right. The Thing is a good example of a movie that was better the second time around. I just hope they can strike a balance between frightening and overblown CGI.
I really objected to Halloween being remade because I did not believe that it needed a more sophisticated update to still have the shock value that it did when it was first released but the original Nightmare on Elm Street would just bore the hell out of audiences today.

Katie Cassidy being in the remake doesn't hurt.

rob zombie's originals, and the redo of Halloween (both I and II) were really well done and good movies. i think his story telling (all of his movies really) of Halloween is much better then the original.

this is not to say John Carpenter didn't make good movies; cause he does too.
