Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the new definition of broadband, these guys won't be getting the amount of subsidies they were before (I have to assume there's other tax breaks, etc. that they still manage to get)
Until we break em up they'll still find plenty of ways to bend us over, regulations or not.
The answer is to break up the monopoly. Wireless infrastructure* as well as municipal internet services will go a long way towards making that a reality.
*So long as we break up that oligarchy as well.

In a growing economy, that's absolutely correct.
In a stagnant or receding economy, you don't want inflation as the value of currency goes down. The idea is to get inflation to match wealth creation, i.e. match up the size of the pie ($$$) with our ability to make it (actual wealth, i.e. houses cars phones computers etc etc).
Money does not equal wealth, it's only a "loose" approximation.

Yep, there's no greater wealth disparity in the world than what took place in Russia and China at the height of communism, our "have-nots" live almost like kings compared to theirs.
