Nope, its actually pretty easy. Find your dock .plist file, then open it up in TextEdit or vi. Go down a few keys and find the one called orientation and change it from bottom to top.

Never thought of doing that, thanks for the heads-up. However, when I tried it, the dock crashed after I restarted it. I think maybe I'll go back to using TransparentDock..

TinkerTool works fine, but if you like to do things manually so that you know whats going on then its easy to do. As for your crashing problem, I dunno, Ive never tried butting the dock anywhere but the bottom. It gets kind of annoying at the top because whenever I go up to the menus my dock pops out.

As long as we're on the subject, how would one open a .plist to add an "NSUIElement value of 1" to it?

Ok, maybe it's not that good. I downloaded it but whenever I opened the widget, iTunes opened up. And everytime I quit, it reopened up. Has anyone else had that happpen with this widget? I've tried a handful of iTunes widgets and never had that problem before. As soon as I closed it, iTunes started to behave again.

With TextEdit from Apple. I've used that.

Well I'm still in the dark as to how I would use TextEdit to do that; I used command-f to try to find "NSUIElement" in the clusters of text, but no such luck.

Any help would be appreciated - at least a few subtle hints

Yeah, the Phazon Widget has started doing that for me just yesterday. Never happened before with this or any other iTunes Widget. iTunes starts up again immediately after quitting, and cancels shutdowns or logouts as well. Seriously weird, because it has NEVER happened before, and now does it EVERY time.

Did you guys update to 1.7.1? Might be a glitch there.. I would suggest looking over the Kon-Fab Forums for other users having the same issues.

Try adding this:
<key>NSUIElement</key>
<string>1</string>

- in the list of keys and strings. I THINK that's how it is done. DragThing has a FAQ that explains it.

The desktop is something I made, still needs some polishing. It's the X-Ray Visor from Metroid Prime.

I'll release the mod once I get some larger menubar caps in it and get permission from Max.

Yeah, I was thinking that it might have something to do with that. Dang, it seems the latest two versions of Konfab have had more and more problems.

nah, that was intentional. the only interesting bit is showing. Bit of a waste of bandwidth to just see two screens with orange and a blue desktop pic well i thought so....

I like the idea of the word "Apple" instead of the little icon. Was this your idea or is this also used elsewhere? (I'm just looking for examples of what other people have done!)

The original ChosenOS was for windows I believe and always contained a text based start/apple menu.....hardly my idea...
