I know this is old news...

but it amazes me that art is not stolen more often, considering the relative values of some of the pieces..

Maybe the painting will turn up on scambay..err..... ebay...

perhaps not...

Actually it has been robbed, not stolen.

I think that other thread should be locked. It has a subject that makes it impossible to know what it's about for people who are interested in discussing this.

ok...

I really do not know much about the relative monetary value of art, or how 'worth' per se is determined...

Does anyone know how much a piece like 'The Scream' is worth? i.e.: Considering it is 'hot'?

Or is it just priceless?

Its an icon, its priceless and every art specialist tells you that its simply impossible to sale this pic (even on the illegal market). Police speaker has speculated that the pic is taken for ransom.

I wouldnt bet a sh*t on experts estimations on the price of art like "The scream".

Past has shown that most of the estimated prices for "high end art" were wrong...

I cannot provide you with quotations but IIRC one example were some Van Gogh pics that were on auction in the 90s. It turned out that they were totally underestimated

But whatever the supposed value is, it is irrelevant unless you can find someone willing to spend that much. I wonder who is willing buy such a hot item?
We need less Democrats and Republicans, and more people that think for themselves.

Sure it's nice art and all, but I don't think it looks good. I wouldn't buy it if I had the money. First I'd spend $3000 on a personal theme song.
