For some reason, I had not noticed that 640, 750, and 1TB bare drives were available in 2.5" form factor! The TB drives seem to all be 12.5 mm. I have a new 2010 MBP. The manual does not state a maximum height for the drive (as far as I can see), so I'm asking my MacNN friends whether you've bumped up your newest MBP to one of these larger sizes, and which one you'd recommend from Newegg.

you are making too much of the subject. Any Seagate or WD 3.5 hard drive works except the 6.0 G/s)those you need to jumper).

Huh? He's asking about 2.5" drives with a particular height limit for a macbook pro.

owc lists a 1 TB WD at 12.5 mm as compatible with all MBP unibody 13/15/17". 1.0TB WD Scorpio Blue 5200RPM Serial ATA **12... (WD10TPVT) at OWC

So it looks like you're ok for 12.5 mm.

If you are grabbing one from Newegg, might I suggest the Samsung Spinpoint MT2 1TB (it is a 2.5" drive)?
